What is the Newcomers' Gallery?

The Newcomers' Gallery (marked in green in the diagram below)is a block of seventy two stands that make up part of the main hall.

Each stand consists of a floor space 2 metres long by 1 metre deep, with a back and side walls made of polyfoamex. The stand is fully carpeted with a personalised name board across the front.

These stands are offered at a favourable package price that includes fluorescent strip lighting and your entry in the BCTF show directory.

Each exhibitor in the Newcomers Gallery will automatically be entered for the Newcomers Award of Excellence, sponsored by the Craft & Design Magazine.

Am I a Newcomer?

If you have recently graduated from university/college and/or have been in business for less than three years, you are eligible.

If you are a more experienced maker, but you have never exhibited at a trade fair, don't worry, you can exhibit in the main part of the Hall but we will still provide you with all the help and advice we offer those in the Newcomers Gallery.

Extra help and Support for Newcomers

We offer you information and advice to help you prepare for your first trade fair. This includes:

• The Newcomers Guide: a pdf document you can download for free.
• One-to-one help. We are always happy to discuss any aspect of your business or any queries you may have in regards to exhibiting. You can contact me either by telephone on 01444 246446 or at info@bctf.co.uk
• Stand Examples. A large selection of photographs of past exhibitor stand layouts.
• Feedback. Exhibitor feedback and images of BCTF 2011.

Do You Meet Our Criteria?

Our criteria are simple: We only accept designer-makers of handmade work that live in, and produce their products in, the British Isles.
