Potteryman - David Melville
From a childhood spent playing with muddy streams and garden bonfires it's not a huge leap to being a potter using clay and kilns.
Play and life should intermix until the edges blur.
Now grown up! David Melville has been a potter since 1980 producing handmade pots for use in the garden and home,
all fired to 1300 degrees in a flame-fired kiln.
His glazes are unique to his pots, some using local materials.
David's stand at BCTF has a vast range of work on display suitable for craft shops and galleries,
from a humble mug to a majestic King and Queen planter.
David says" I focus on BCTF to launch my new ideas for the year alongside work that consistently sells".
To see more of David's work, see him on stand 330 at BCTF 2012.

Ceem Studio
The wood used by Ciaran McKay in his work consists of salvaged off-cuts obtained from a large local timber supplier,
who would otherwise either leave them to rot, burn them or make them into chip board.
Ciaran believes that he gives the wood a new lease of life, exposing the natural beauty of the formations in the wood.
Ciaran also works freelance, as a Creative Producer, Puppeteer and Creative Worskshop Facilitator with young people.

Karen Fox
Karen's influences stem from architecture and the beauty of city landscapes for their structure, geometry and repetition.
The Elizabethan era of flamboyant dress, with its fine detailing and dramatic scale also inspires her, making another link with the language of architecture.
Karen combines stainless steel mesh cloth- an engineered techno fabric used in the aerospace industry- hand-made paper and
precious metals, with textile techniques - folding, pleating, smocking - creating a richly layered textural surface.
These extravagant layers create an opulent feel, recalling a past time of exaggeration and decoration.
